So what's the difference between a Ford Transit, Ford Transit Connect and Ford Transit Connect Wagon? 

These are three separate van models with over 100 different configurations. Do you need a work van, a passenger van or a cargo van? 2016 Ford Transit
-- A full sized work van with a high roof for professional tradesmen and fleet customers. Also available as a passenger van that can fit anywhere from 8 to 15 passengers, depending on configurations. All-in-all, there's 58 separate Ford Transit configurations. 
2016 Ford Transit Connect -- A low price cargo van offered for commercial fleet and small business customers. Offered in two wheelbase lengths. No back seats.
2016 Ford Transit Connect Wagon -- This is a family passenger van. Ford calls it the "unminivan," with a shorter length and unique attributes when compared to the typical van. It comes in two configurations -- five passenger and seven passenger.

2016 Ford Transit 
As we said, it's a full sized work van. And with 58 total configurations, we're sure to have a Transit for you. 
At its tallest peak, the high-roof Ford Transit features 81.5 inches of interior cargo height. A 6 foot, 4 inch tall man can stand upright in the cabin. A medium-roof Transit offers up to 72 inches of headroom and 57 inches of headroom is available in the low-roof Transit. Inside, the Transit provides up to 487 cubic feet of cargo space. The rear doors open to a 237 degree angle for easy loading and unloading. 
As we also mentioned there is a Ford Transit Wagon passenger van. There are four seating options to seat either 8, 10, 12 or 15 passengers. Cargo room in the Ford Transit Wagons peaks at 100.5 cubic feet of storage. The Ford Transit Wagon is the best vehicle for airport shuttles, church passenger vans or taxi shuttles. 
Under the hood, there are three engine choices. Standard is a 3.7L V6 engine that produces up to 275 horsepower and 260 lb. ft of torque. Next up is a 3.5L EcoBoost V6 Engine that produces 310 horsepower and 400 lb. ft of torque. Finally there's a 3.2L Diesel engine with 185 horsepower and 350 lb. ft of torque.

2016 Ford Transit Connect
So maybe you've read this and thought you don't need a full-sized work truck. The van for you then is the Ford Transit Connect. It's a smaller cargo van, efficient and versatile at a lower price. The Transit Connect is great for commercial fleets and small business owners who want a great van. 
You can get a Transit Connect without seatsIt can handle up to 1,620 pounds and payload and it’s approved to tow as much as 2,000 pounds when properly equipped.  
 With seats, it becomes the Ford Transit Connect Wagon (see below). 
A Transit Connect is available as a long wheelbase or short wheelbase. They are really easy to drive and fit any lifestyle. Long wheelbase vans store up to 128.6 cubic feet of storage. Short wheelbase vans store up to 103.9 cubic feet of storage. 
Under the hood you have two engine choices. Standard is a 2.5L Duratec 1-4 engine. It produces up to 169 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. Optional is the 1.6L EcoBoost engine with an EPA estimated 29 MPG highway. It produces 178 horsepower and best in class 184 lb. ft of torque.

2016 Ford Transit Connect Wagon
This is the family passenger van. It's nothing like the typical van thanks to the innovative style, great seating configurations and more. 
Long wheel wagons store up to 104.2 cubic feet of storage and short wheelbase wagons store up to 77 cubic feet of storage. 
The wagon comes in five and seven passenger capabilities.  With five passengers, you'll get a rear bench seat. In the seven-person configuration, there's a second row of captain's chairs and a rear bench seat. 
Under the hood you have two engine choices. Standard is a 2.5L Duratec 1-4 engine. It produces up to 169 horsepower and 171 lb-ft of torque. Optional is the 1.6L EcoBoost engine with an EPA estimated 29 MPG highway. It produces 178 horsepower and best in class 184 lb. ft of torque. 
It's easy to load up your Ford Transit Connect with all the modern technology. Optional equipment includes a backup camera, Blind Spot Monitoring, Ford SYNC and Bluetooth. 
New this year, the Transit Connect Wagon offers 17-inch alloy wheels, power driver's seat, anti-theft smart alarm system and a new Shadow Black exterior.
